Cancer & Chiropractic

Being diagnosed with cancer and undergoing procedures or treatments to fight the disease can impose significant stress on your neuro-musculoskeletal system, including your bones, muscles, joints, tendons, and ligaments. You may experience aches and pains in your back and/or neck, abdominal pain, nausea, irritability, lack of energy, headaches, sciatica (pain that radiates from your lower back to your leg), or difficulty moving and walking. Cancer is known medically as a malignant neoplasm. It is a broad group of various diseases, all involving unregulated cell growth. In cancer, cells divide and grow uncontrollably, forming malignant tumors, and invade nearby parts of the body. The cancer may also spread to more distant parts of the body through the lymphatic system or bloodstream. Not all tumors are cancerous. Benign tumors do not grow uncontrollably. They do not invade neighboring tissues, and do not spread throughout the body. There are over 200 different known cancers that afflict humans.

Determining what causes cancer is complex. Many things are known to increase the risk of cancer, including tobacco use, certain infections, radiation, lack of physical activity, obesity, and environmental pollutants. These can directly damage genes or combine with existing genetic faults within cells to cause the disease. Approximately five to ten percent of cancers are entirely hereditary.

At Café Of Life Chiropractic, experienced chiropractors help cancer patients to deal with such debilitating pain and discomfort. The chiropractic care they provide can also reduce stress and increase mobility, flexibility, strength, and function, as well as help improve quality of life and overall well-being.

Many doctors encourage patients to make chiropractic care part of their treatment plan. Chiropractic care is one of the most commonly practiced and widely accepted healing methods utilized today. It’s a piece of the puzzle. It’s another way in which we’re taking care of the body as a whole. Dr Eric Lampinstein’s approach to Healing is world-renowned. He utilizes an integrative approach to healing through working with the central nervous system, spinal biomechanics, and the inherent healing wisdom of the body. We also offer integrative medicine, nutritionalists, acupuncturists, fitness instructors, physical therapists, life management professionals, and massage therapists.
